All workshops are hands-on, inclusive, and designed for all skill levels. Materials are supplied.

Workshop A: Hand Sewing Foundations

$49 per person  |  2 hours  |  All materials and take-home kit included  |  Maximum 5 participants  |  No experience required

You do not need a machine. You do not need experience. You just need to show up.

Hand Sewing Foundations is a 2-hour workshop for complete beginners. You will learn the core techniques every hand sewer needs, practised at your own pace, with everything provided.

What You Will Learn

  • Threading a needle and making a secure knot

  • Basting stitch

  • Back stitch

  • Catch stitch

  • Blind hem stitch

  • Slip stitch

What You Take Home

Every participant leaves with a take-home sewing kit: needles, a stitch ripper, thread snips, a spool of thread, pins, and thread wax. Everything you need to keep practising at home.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is designed for anyone who has never sewn by hand before, wants to build confidence with a needle and thread, or is curious about sewing without a machine.

Workshop B: Clothing Repairs and Closures

$45 per person  |  2 hours  |  All materials and take-home kit included  |  Maximum 6 participants  |  Know how to thread a needle? You are ready.

Your clothes are worth keeping. This workshop gives you the skills to keep them.

Clothing Repairs and Closures is a 2-hour workshop focused on the hand sewing techniques you need to repair and extend the life of your wardrobe. Whether a button has gone missing, a hook has pulled free, or a seam has opened up, you will leave knowing exactly what to do.

What You Will Learn

  • Ladder stitch for invisible seam repairs

  • Sewing on a flat button

  • Sewing on a shank button

  • Sewing on a reinforced button for heavy fabric such as coats

  • Attaching trouser hooks and bars

  • Sewing hook and eyes

  • Inserting a centred zipper by hand

What You Take Home

Every participant leaves with a repair kit including trouser hooks and bars and an assortment of buttons. Everything you need to start repairing at home.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to repair their own clothes, extend the life of their wardrobe, or start upcycling. You do not need to have taken Workshop A. You need to know how to thread a needle. That is all.

Both workshops are standalone. Participants are welcome to attend one or both in any order.
