Our Policies
All workshops are registered and paid for in advance through Eventbrite. A confirmation email is sent immediately after registration. Please check your inbox and your spam folder for this confirmation and keep it for your records.
Space in each workshop is limited and assigned on a first come, first served basis. We recommend registering early, as popular sessions fill quickly.
If you need to cancel your registration, please notify us at least 7 days before the scheduled workshop start time. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance receive a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop are not eligible for a refund. We understand that plans change, and in these cases we encourage you to use the transfer option described below instead.
To cancel, email hello@makeitsewstudio.ca with your name and the workshop date. Refunds are processed back to the original method of payment within five business days.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please notify us by email at least 24 hours before the workshop with the name and email address of the person attending in your place. There is no fee for a transfer.
Make It Sew Studio workshops run as scheduled regardless of the number of participants registered. You do not need to worry about a session being cancelled due to low enrolment.
On rare occasions, a workshop may need to be cancelled by Make It Sew Studio due to severe weather, facilitator illness, or venue unavailability. If this happens, all registered participants receive a full refund automatically. We will also make every reasonable effort to offer a rescheduled date as an alternative.
We will notify you by email as early as possible if a cancellation is necessary.
Please arrive at the venue in time to settle in before the workshop begins. If you arrive after the start time, you are still welcome to join the session in progress. There is no restriction on late arrival, though we recommend arriving as close to the start time as possible so you do not miss foundational instruction.
We want every participant to be able to fully take part in our workshops. If you have an accessibility need or accommodation request, please contact us at hello@makeitsewstudio.ca before your workshop so we can prepare.
Make It Sew Studio may take photographs or video during workshops for use in marketing materials, social media, and our website. By attending a workshop, you consent to the possible use of your image in this way. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let your facilitator know at the start of the session, and we will respect your preference.
All materials needed for the workshop are supplied, including any take home kit described in the workshop listing. There is nothing additional you need to bring unless the workshop description states otherwise.

Make It Sew Studio is committed to a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants. Everyone is expected to treat fellow participants, the facilitator, and the venue with respect. Make It Sew Studio reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session without a refund if their conduct disrupts the workshop for others.
